The Western Lake
This is one of the most explored coastal dune lakes in Walton County. The lake can be accessed through Grayton Beach State Park. The water in Western Lake is relatively shallow and is primarily freshwater, but does have increased salinity from periodic overflows from the ocean during storms. Western Lake is tea-colored (due to vegetation decays, tannins leach into the water, making transparent, acidic water that is darkly stained, appearing of tea or coffee color), but the water in the lake is clean. Western Lake is perfect for paddleboarding where you can experience unique geographical features that are only found in a few places in the world!

Eastern Lake
Eastern Lake Neighborhood Access is on the west side of Eastern Lake where the outfall meets the beach at the intersection of South Gulf Drive and Eastern Lake Road, about 1/4 mile south of Scenic 30A. Eastern Lake is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by sand dunes that are known to shift. The water of the lake is shallow, which makes it a perfect spot to try paddleboarding.

Lake Powell
Lake Powell is the largest Coastal Dune Lake in Florida located in southwestern Bay County and southeastern Walton County. The lake can be accessed through Camp Helen State Park. The lake is a prime location for many activities, including paddleboarding.
